Extending Practice/Celebrating Place
This new programme will combine bespoke professional development support with marketing and commission opportunities for practitioners working in all art forms, including literature, music, theatre, dance and the visual arts within the county of North Yorkshire.
Celebrating Place
This part of the programme will provide ten commissions for North Yorkshire based practitioners working in literature, music, theatre, dance, visual and combined arts to develop new work that is inspired by an aspect of North Yorkshire’s culture, heritage or environment. The work will be undertaken during 2010/11 and will be showcased as part of a high profile event, e.g. literature, music or other festival, North Yorkshire Open Studios, etc. A commission fee will be paid to each practitioner to include all fees, materials, equipment and expenses.
Payment will be by instalment with a final payment made on the successful presentation of the work. Practitioners awarded a commission will also receive mentoring support as part of the programme. Appropriate mentors will be identified in consultation with each participant.
Selection
The deadline for receipt of applications will be 6 September 2010. Further details will be published on www.creativenorthyorkshire.com
